What Does It Mean to Keep the Core Clean?
The expression “keep the core clean” is a practice promoted by SAP that minimizes
customization and modifications to SAP standard functionality in core ERP systems such
as ECC or S/4 Hana. Rather than introduce complexity into the core, cloud-based
platforms, such as SAP BTP, are leveraged to introduce additional functionality or
enhancements required to meet complex business requirements or innovations.
